Angel touch screen monitor, pointer moving wrong direction

Hi all, I almost got my touch screen working and was looking for help in the final stretch.

Ubuntu 14.04 lts, monitor seems to be "Angel" brand, here it is on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1
If you want to skip to the end, seems like my swapaxes argument does not apply.

Plug in with no config, I think it just acted crazy. So I installed 'Calibrate Touchscreen'. Ran, it gives me this
Code:
Calibrating EVDEV driver for "eGalax Inc. USB TouchController" id=12
current calibration values (from XInput): min_x=769, max_x=793 and min_y=1233, max_y=1229

Doing dynamic recalibration:
    Setting calibration data: 797, 765, 1228, 1234
--> Making the calibration permanent <--
copy the snippet below into '/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/99-calibration.conf' (/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/ in some distro's)
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "calibration"
    MatchProduct "eGalax Inc. USB TouchController"
    Option "Calibration" "797 765 1228 1234"
    Option "SwapAxes" "1"
EndSection
Pasted as requested, no change. I ran lsusb and noticed the monitor is called this
Code:
Bus 002 Device 004: ID 0eef:0001 D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd eGalax TouchScreen
So I changed my file to say this
Code:
jefm@duck:/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d$ cat 99-calibration.conf
Section "InputClass"
    Identifier "calibration"
MatchProduct "D-WAV Scientific Co., Ltd eGalax TouchScreen"
    Option "Calibration" "797 765 1228 1234"
    Option "SwapAxes" "1"
EndSection
The problem is it seems like not matter what i put for SwapAxes, be it 1, 0, True or False, the cursor misbehaves but is predictable.
If I touch drag from lower left to upper right, the cursor moves from upper left to lower right.
If I touch drag from upper left to lower right, the cursor moves from lower left to upper right.

Any ideas? thanks for any help!

The plot thickens,
before giving up for the day I renamed the calibration file to break it. But the monitor acts exactly the same. No wonder swapaxes didn't matter, it's probably not reading that file. Here is my xorg.conf.d directory:

Code:
jefm@duck:/usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d$ ls
10-evdev.conf 11-evdev-trackpoint.conf 50-wacom.conf
10-quirks.conf 50-synaptics.conf 51-synaptics-quirks.conf
11-evdev-quirks.conf 50-vmmouse.conf 99-calibration.conf.jefm
The .jefm extension is to break it. I wonder what I need to be writing my monitor calibration to?
