Hey folks,
I'm having some trouble with getting my cpu (amd A10-6800K) to get boosting to turbo boost. I have it activated in my bios (MoBo: Asrock FM275A Pro4+). Im running cli debian on it.
When running idle the cpu runs at 2.00Ghz according to cpufreq-info (1968000kHz according to cpufreq-aperf).
When running cpuburn on 4 threads I get a frequency of 4.10 Ghz on every core according to cpufreq-info (3977000kHz according to cpufreq-aperf)
When running cpuburn on 1 thread only I get a frequency of 4.10 Ghz on one core according to cpufreq-info. But at the same time cpufreq-aperf reads:
Code:
CPU Average freq(KHz) Time in C0 Time in Cx C0 percentage
000 1968000 00 sec 040 ms 00 sec 959 ms 04
001 1968000 00 sec 012 ms 00 sec 987 ms 01
002 4264000 00 sec 002 ms 00 sec 997 ms 00
003 4264000 00 sec 998 ms 00 sec 001 ms 99
The boost clock should be 4.4Ghz according to the CPU specs.
So I'm wondering if that last case is the turbo core, because it's not that close to the specified turbo frequency. Also the frequency when under load at all 4 cores is lower then specified.
So first of all im not shure if I actually have a problem but to me it seems like either turbo core is'nt working, or all clock speeds are lower then they should be.
So are these speeds actually correct? if not, where to find correct ones, if they are why are they so low?
Thanks in advance for any help
