Question ambient modem

does anybody knows if an Ambient Modem with Intel MD5628D-L-C chipset...???

.................. is a hardware modem... or if it's software but works with linux???

your modem is supported
here are your drivers

but remeber they are only supported in 2.2.12 to 2.2.18 versions of kernel. i think that redhat linux 7.0.
if you are using the newest kernels thwn download then and add.

so, if i have kernel 2.4.5 installed i cannot use that modem???
