All-in-One Qubes PC with hardware kill switches


This is going to be interesting. I always liked the idea of physical switches for hardware.


Currently without hardware switches LEDs can be flipped so the indicator light's off but the device is on. Or there's not even an LED.

I just wonder what hardware will they have switches for.

My guesses are:

wifi
ethernet
microphone
webcam
speakers

Maybe a read-only switch for the HDD. No others I can think of.

Apart from electrical isolation, you have little need of switches, and they are always an issue. Certainly software can be used to switch most things. It's when the software goes out to lunch that you want a switch. When there is no switch, the plug does the job.
