add hard drive

Some advice please before I destroy my existing drive!!

I've added 2 drives to my 3200 compaq raid controller and set them as one logical.

I used to RH CD to add the additional scsi drive to the boot loader. When it loads this is in the log

ida/c0d0: p1 p2 p3 (this is the original disk)
ida/c0d1 (new disk)

I know I should fdisk, mkfs and mount it, any help with the commands would be greatly appriciated, every article I read seems to be some what different.

Thanks
