acer laptop + rfmon

I plan on installing ubuntu on an Acer Aspire 15.4" Widescreen Notebook PC (5630-6288) that i plan to purchase, but i was wondering if the onboard wireless device will be able to ran in rfmon or (monitor mode). I plan on using kismet and aircrack on it and i hear those programs require the capture device be set to monitor mode. The laptop does have a PC card slot if the onboard is not supported, however.

Not sure about what a "monitor mode" exactly is, but I believe Acer Aspire laptops use Broadcom 43xx wireless cards, so you could find better information on the net with that. The card itself may require either FWcutter (extract needed firmware from a Windows driver for the native one) or the use of NDISwrapper (wrap Windows drivers to be used), but otherwise works great.
