64 bit


Is it possible to install Red Hat 7 on a 64bit machine.

If your talking about something like an Athlon 64 or Opteron, sure. The current 64-Bit processors on the market are backward-compatible with 32-Bit OSes.

Of course, the older the OS, the more "compatibility" issues you may run into. Red Hat 9 will probably be more compatible than Red Hat 7, and the Red Hat Enterprise releases will be more compatible than Red Hat 9.
