i can only get sound from my front left/right speakers and subwoofer. i have looked and have not been able to find anything that tells you how to get sound out of the rear or center speakers.
here is my ~/.asoundrc
pcm.ch51dup {
type rout pcm.emu10k1 {
type hw
card 0
}
ctl.emu10k1 {
type hw
card 0
}
also, when i use speaker-test, the sound does not appear to be routed to the correct channels.
0 - Front Left -----------no sound
4 - Center ---------------sound comes out of front left speaker
1 - Front Right ----------no sound
3 - Rear Right -----------no sound
2 - Rear Left ------------no sound
5 - LFE ------------------sound comes out of front right speaker
playig ac3 dvds or mpeg streams does not solve my problem. and what do you mean by, 'you have to copy front-to-back channels output in you favorite sound-mixer'? i know sound is truely 2.1 and it has to be split over the speakers, but, how do i do this? what files are involved that need to be edited? i already tried manipulating the .asoundrc file. also, the speaker-test is stating the sound is coming out of the wrong speaker.
so i looked through different posts and all i see when people post about having problems with getting sound split through 6 speakers is nothing but jibber jabber. it appears no one here knows how to fix this issue. all i see are lame ass responses like the one in this thread. 'you need to use <insert app here>' or 'yeah i can't get it to work either, have you tried <insert lame ass fix here>' or 'i can't get it to work so i do something else and give up'. jesus christ monkey balls.
and there you have it. you people might as well have asked me, 'have you checked your config?' or 'when you click on your window, does it go ''clickity clack!''
