3com lan install 3c2000 :: not posted already

Heres my issue:

I have a 3c2000 lan driver for my abil is7 motherboard. Previously I had this working. I reinstalled RedHat (and everything else on my ntfs partition), and now I cannot make this work. Most posts on here ask how to get the module to load on startup. I cannot even get this working myself. Here's the steps I've taken:

make
make install
make load (which is just 'insmod 3c2000.o')
ifconfig eth0 up
netconfig

then I set the IP parameters. Still I cannot get connect after all this. I have no idea what else I should do. Can someone help?

Russ
