16:10 Wide Screen w/ nVidia GeForce FX Go 5200

Hi,

I've just installed Fedora Core 2 on my Toshiba Satellite Pro M30 Laptop.

Everything works fine (even the Wireless) exept the screen resolution. The laptop has a 16:10 wide screen and the best I could have is a 4:3 resolution of 1024x768.

I've tried to put the 1280x800 in the xorg.conf but it didn't work, even when I added some modelines found in some linux forums.

The graphic card is an nVidia GeForce FX 5200. In the "Display Settings" utility, I've selected "LCD Panel 1024x768" for the monitor and "NVIDIA GeForce FX (Generic)" for the Video Card.

go to this site and install the file using the help there

read the readme file for some xorg.conf file changes.

hope this will help your problem as i guess your NVIDIA drivers are not installed properly
