yum question

Hello,

I want to update a RedHat box using yum.
My question is... if a certan daemon is updated does it restarts it automaticly or do I have to do it manualy after the update is complete?

Thanks,

Usually, the service is restarted automatically when it is updated. There have been packaging errors which did not restart the service in the past, so it's always best to monitor your syslog during an update to verify on an important server:

tail -F /var/log/messages
