Before xsane will see your scanner, you need to get your RH 9.0 to see the scanner. If RH 9.0 is anything like the Mandrake 9.0 that I am using, you will need to do something like the following:

(1) connect your scanner to your computer and turn it on.
(2) turn on your computer and boot RH 9.0
(3) go to your system configuration manager (the RH 9.0 equivalent of Mandrake Control Center) and have it search for and install your scanner.
(4) go to xsane which should now work.
