X-server problem : Laptop with external screen

Hi,

I have just installed KDE and debian on a laptop. The problem with the laptop is that the screen is very dark, so I work with an external screen.

Everything works fine, I can work on the external screen until I do 'startx'. Than the laptop goes to it's own screen. What should I do to prevent him from doing this ? Maybe reconfiguring something on the X-settings?

thanks in advance.

on redhat/fedora, you have a system-config-display command taht you run to configure your display. it has an option for dual headed systems. i'm not sure what the debian tool is, but, you may find it identified in the file /etc/X11 directory. it would be mentioned in the initial comments.

haven't used dual heads, so you will have to noodle it out.
