wireless networking with a liveCD

Is it supposed to be impossible to run a wireless network on a liveCD for some reason? I have tried it, unsuccessfully, in Knoppix and SimplyMEPIS, mainly to see if I could; but I never knew if I was inherently wasting my time.

If you mean can you get wireless connectivity using a live cd then the answer is yes you can if either the drivers for your nic are included in the livecd or ndiswrapper is installed. Ive had success with kanotix using nic with rt2500 chipset and various live distros with acx111 chipset and ndiswrapper. Some also have method of backing up settings so you can reboot and connect without messing about.
