why is there no suse iso?

i went to the suse site a couple of days ago, and being a noob that i am, i downloaded the live eval, which seems to be some sort of thing that runs from the cd.

... but it was an iSO, when i try to find the whole thing, its never iso, 7.3 or 8.. anyone know why?

Because SuSE don't supply iso's untill the version is at least two numbers out of date.

because they don't make money out of it. they are under no obligation to do so, as it is available for ftp download. they don't want to give it away too readily, they are a business after all, and it's not like there is no choice.

I am closing this thread as this topic has several threads already in the distribution forum about Suse, downloading it and why they don't offer iso images.
