Talking What is SRC?

Hello people on this Forum , i am new here, and about LINUX know not much. Just that it schould be better (Than MS) .
I wanna ask what SRC are , and if i can install a LINUX Production with that?
I found an FTP Site, and they have 2x *.iso files to burn full with SRC.
I had a LIVE CD of LinsPire, but to really try it, wanned to install it to the HHD. It couldn't be installed, then i thought about getting the FULL CD. (Don't wanna pay, till a get satisfied (So I am)).

So, if some one tell me what are SRC and if i can use them to install LinSpire? And how?

Thats.

SRC means source. Just download the regular *.iso

I suspect the "src" you're talking about refers to "source code", which is the set of files used to build a functioning Linux and its companion applications from the ground up, so to speak. Any program begins life as a simple text file that contains particular keywords, symbols, and structures. That's called a source file, or source code. Source code is fed to something called a compiler and a linker, which turns it into an executable file.

I know nothing about Linspire, but you probably don't want to mess with src files at this point.

You don't need to copy a live cd to your hard drive. Just boot from it and use the version of Linux that runs as a result.

if you are looking for something to install for free there are PLENTY of iso's out there for the taking. You can get a bunch of them at linuxiso.org, or you can find others at various places. Personally I liked kubuntu. Google the distro you want, most have free liveCDs to download, and many also have install images....free. I'm pretty new to linux myself....I burned about 7 or eight liveCDs before settling for one to install (not that you have to settle for one....you can install pretty much as many as you have room for.) If you want, you can take a quiz to find out what distro best suits you. try http://www.zegeniestudios.net/ldc/index.php or

Thank you all for answering, and taking the Time to do so.... I downloaded the SRC Cd's already, but I think I will take "darinbolson"'s advice. Then if I use a LIVE CD I can not use the CD-Rom and can not save files in the HDD.

Till next Time
