weird soft links

Hi guys, I was trying to create a soft link.
/export/home/test---> /export/home/theguest
So I typed
ln - s /export/home/test /home/theguest
after that, I tried to ls -la
It did show up the soft link
when I cd to /home/theguest
it did point back to /export/home/test
well, when I ftp and logon as the theguest
it did show up the file /test
when I double it, it said no such directory. Any idea?

What exactly do you mean by "when I double it?". I'm confused a tad. Is it only when you FTP in? It then would probably just be an ownership/permission problem.
