Thumbs down WB6692 PCI ISDN modem....Please Help

Hi everyone, Can anyone please help me with getting my WB6692 PCI ISDN modem to work in redhat 9 ?
I have been at it for 3 days and cant seem to get even one slight little nudge to getting it to work. I must state here aswell, I am a total newbie , this is the only 3 days I have ever used linux, and have been studying alot of e-books etc.

This is the initial problem...

1. I install the modem and setup my internet connection exactly how I am meant to, by opening up my network control panel...add new...choose ISDN connection etc. and fill out my ISP details.

2. The ISDN4K utils and my PPP daemons etc are all installed.

3. I try and activate the device and it says it could not activate the device with no further details in the error screen.

4. I look in my system log and it says that it could not find an open connection to the pppd daemon.

The only thing I have been able to try on my own with my total know nothing-ness of this OS is...

open up xterm...
and I do this:

isdnctrl pppbind isdn0 0

my isdn device is listed as isdn0 so that above is correct...
the other 0 is obviously a open piece to the daemon, I have also tried 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 for the daemon...and to no avail.

I have asked two people that have been running linux and know what they are doing in it to help..not even they have been to help me out. Is there anyone out there that can help me please or is Bill Gates realy God? (cos thats what I am starting to believe after this "hell" I am going through.
