Want to disable a 2nd soundcard

I have an onboard Realtek AC97 onboard card and a PCI Soundblaster Live! 7.1 24-bit. Both of these are detected by Fedora without issue. However I need the AC97 because ALSA cannot capture sound using the SB. Thus I am unable to use the SB for MythTV. I still use the SB for gaming in XP. Without physically removing the SB, how can I get FC to treat it as if its not there?

Why remove it, just use the AC'97 and leave SB unused; this is a matter of configuring your alsa settings I think. You just tell alsa to use AC'97 and not SB, or does SB produce some harm?

Well the thing is sometimes FC boots up with the SB as the detected card. So I have to go to soundcard detection and point it to the AC. How would I go about setting ALSA up to look at the AC'97 exclusively then?
