What do I do if I'm trying to install something and I get an error message saying "nautilus has no installed viewer to view .....(whatever it is).?

To get to the point:
Install the appropriate viewer for the file you want to view.

all that means is Nautilus cant just display the file, like its a binary executable or something. Just opent the file w/ the correct program.

Ohhhhh ok. The only problem is, is that I don't know which file is the correct one to open it with.

What is the name of the file you are trying to open?? What do think the file is supposed to do? Knowing that much, someone can tell you what to bind that file type too.

Like rmartine said - what is the filename? is it soemthing like:
blahblahblah.rpm
