vgcreate is not working

Hi, I would greatly appreciate some help. Thank-you in advance.

I am trying to follow the instructions to install an encrypted Linux Mint found here: https://gitlab.com/johanmcos/tutoria...ncrypted-Btrfs

I was trying to create a volume group as follows: vgcreate mint-vg /dev/mapper/sda9_crypt However this is the error message I received: Can't open /dev/mapper/sda9_crypt exclusively. Mounted filesystem?

I ran the following command: dmsetup info -C and the following is the result:

If someone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it.

The tutorial doesn’t mention anything thing about creating a volume group , why are you creating another vg?

Thank you so much for your reply, I appreciate your interest and willingness to help.
I tried the following command as part of the tutorial and it did not work so after a few different tries to work around it I came to this idea of creating a vg. This is the command that did not work: lvresize --resizefs mint-vg/old-root -L 10G
Anyway, I since reinstalled the OS and now this command did work. Thanks again.
