using ftp to transfer a directory structure

Hello,

I am using the ARPNET ftp program and I cannot figure out how to transfer a whole directory stucture. I can do individual files, but not directories. Does anyone know how to do this?

I believe its mput but you can read the man page on ftp to learn more about all the available options.

hi there,

afaik there is no recursibe option in the standard GNU/ftp program. this is an interesting feature. i will like to know also a solution.
it is possible to transfer the complete directory structure, if you have under the target machine the same directory structure that you are trying to bring. It means, you need to create the directory tree from the source machine in your target...
