usb storage modules 2.6.10

Just recompiled my kernel from a Suse
9.0 distro to
a 2.6.10 kernel.

Most things seem to work except
now when I plug in and try to mount
my MMC card
it says 'not a valid block device'
(it is of course if i boot my old 2.4 kernel)

must be some sort of hotplug or module
issue.
I've installed the latest hotplug

Any ideas?

You most likely left the support of such device out of your kernel recompile.. you'll need to recompile to enable the support.
