Trusted Platform Module (TPM) setting on new computer
I'm looking at getting a new computer from HP. I want to be able to dual boot the computer between Windows and Linux (probably Slackware). There is an option in the customization menu of the machine before I purchase for "Settings". Three options I am interested in are
TPM (Trusted Platfrom Module) Software Hide
TPM (Trusted Platfrom Module) Permanently Disabled
TPM (Trusted Platfrom Module) Permanently Disable IOPT
The first thing I'm curious about is whether having TPM on the machine will prevent me from setting up dual boot? And if it doesn't prevent, does it make the process to set up dual boot more difficult? Or does TPM have no impact on creating a dual boot systen? Is one of these settings preferable for a new machine on which to set up dual boot?
I tried to search for something to explain the differences in these setting, but haven't seen anything yet.
