I am running Peanut Linux 9.4 and have trouble installing the GCC-peanut-2.95.3-9.4.i386.rpm. I get the following error messages:
error: failed dependcies:
libpng.so.3 is needed by GCC-peanut-2.95.3-9.4.i386
libtcl8.3.so is needed by GCC-peanut-2.95.3-9.4.i386
/usr/local/bin/perl is needed byGCC-peanut-2.95.3-9.4.i386
Looks like you need perl, libpng, and tcl. Don't know about peanut linux but they may be on the install cd(s), if not search for them at the link that BrokenLinux provided.
Of course those three rpm's will most likely have dependencies of thier own.
Please forgive me, it appears that my remedial Linux skills have impaired me from taking these posts to their logical conclusion.
So, permit me to indulge the postee and respondants... I have downloaded all current Peanut RPMs and attempted to install the GCC package when I received the same trio of lines, version variances aside, described by dkochan. When I attempted to install Perl, the output read... "conflicts with file from package perl-Storable-2.0.4-1".
"Locate" found perl-5.8.0-1.i386 already loaded in the /var/packages directory and libpng.so.3 in /usr/lib. Only the file libtcl8.3.so isn't loaded and I suspect that will happen upon tcl/tk installation.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
