not to be rude, but people around here will feel more comfortable with
/dev/hda[1] vs C:\
/dev/hdb[1] vs D:\
/dev/hdc[1] vs E:\
/dev/hdd[1] vs F:\
i have a
/dev/hda Windows
/dev/hdb Linux
/dev/hda is the boot disk in my bios, it is also my lilo disk.
If I choose linux, it boots!
When I choose windows, it jumps into the NT bootloader.
(btw. I think booting 3.1/95/98/ME is different)
my (partial)
/etc/lilo.conf
Code:
image="/boot/vmlinuz-custom-2.6.7"
append="hdc=ide-cd"
root="/dev/hdb1"
label="Linux-2.6.7"
read-only # Non-UMSDOS filesystems should be mounted read-only for checking
image="/boot/vmlinuz-ide-2.4.26"
append="hdc=ide-scsi"
root="/dev/hdb1"
label="Linux-2.4.26"
read-only
# Linux bootable partition config ends
# Windows bootable partition config begins
other = /dev/hda1
label="Windows-2003"
table = /dev/hda
sync lilo records with "sudo lilo"
