what is the use of following command
"tput kf11"

Hi davender,

Are you asking about tput or tput kf11?

man pages shows , it is used for 2 purposes .

Code:
$whatis tput 
tput                 (1)  - initialize a terminal or query terminfo database
tput                 (1p)  - change terminal characteristics

I think here you are trying to Initialize the terminal kf11 according to the type of terminal in the environmental variable TERM.

hi
actully kf11 stands for functional key 11 but i dont know how it is used with tput
there are many functional keys from kf1 to kf64
but why they are used with tput i dont know
