TiVo's linux hdx won't mount partitions

I've installed my TiVo S1 (Sony SVR 2000) drive into my PC to enable my bash prompt, but the partitions won't mount. I am at my wits end! The TiVo drive (Quantum Fireball lct15) is connected to my secondary IDE channel (IDE1), with the jumper set to master. My CD-ROMs are on my primary IDE channel (IDE0). The TiVo drive is unlocked (I used "qunlock 2" command) and properly reports 30 GB. When its all said and done, the drive maps as hdk, cd1 as hdi and cd2 as hdj. I've used Steve Jenkins' floppys and cds, as well as Laporte's CD to no avail. I get a /# prompt, directories 4,7 and 9 create as they should, but will ultimately not mount. I've tried with and w/o byteswapping, as well as DMA on and off.
EVERY TIME I GET SAME RESULT: "mount: special device /dev/hdk4 does not exist" (same for 7 and 9)
Any help is appreciated

24 hours and counting...

Tivo uses a highly modified version of Linux in its boxes. I believe that the problem that you are experiencing is from DRM locking the Tivo hard drive. They put it there in order to prevent exactly what you are trying to do. I don't know how to get around it.
