Time gone berserk

Hey all

Im running fc4 on my centrino laptop with time set to hardware clock. Whenever I reboot I to have manually reset the clock as its always showing the wrong time. The laptop is brand new so it shouldnt be the battery. I originally had it set to sync ntp but noticed that it showed the wrong time when I was offline. Changed back from ntp to hardware and its still nutso ! Anyone ?

A bit more specific info, please :)

Is the discrepancy random, is it always off by the same
amount of time?

If it's random, are you using ACPI or APM? In either case,
are there BIOS patches available for the machine? My Thinkpad
had troubles with time until I applied a BIOS patch and moved
from APM to ACPI...

Cheers,
Tink

Hi Tink

I am running apmd and acpid. Should I have both services running ?. I just rebooted twice and each time the clock read 10 hours ahead of what it should be. I have time localization set to gmt+10 hours. Coincidence - I dont think so, any ideas.

I don't know FC... I don't think that you CAN have them both
running, in Slack the system first tries apm, then acpi.

I suggest that we wait for some FC expert to chime in :)
I can't offer help, but I'm certain it's a setup-problem.

Cheers,
Tink
