SUSE Installation Partitioning
Hi, I'm trying to install SUSE 9.2 FTP install and I posted this message on SUSE/Novell forums but it seems nobody can't answer it and I guess I could get some help here.when installing SUSE, I'm getting this error right before installing where it partitions the hard drive and mounts the partitions:
Could not mount /dev/hda6 to /mnt/
You can continue if you know what you're doing, but, to prevent damage to your filesystems, it is safer to cancel and reboot.
Here's my current partitions table:
/dev/hda 76.3 GB
/dev/hda1 15.6 GB NTFS
/dev/hda2 21.4 GB NTFS
/dev/hda3 16.6 GB NTFS
/dev/hda4 22.6 GB Extended
/dev/hda5 2 GB F Linux native Swap
/dev/hda6 22.6 GB F Linux native with ReiserFS (For /)
Well I tried partitioning with cFDISK and FDISK and I also let SUSE installer (YAST2) partition it but still no go (I need the windows partitions so please don't tell me to erase my hard drive or install Slackware or those other 1337 systems because I don't need a "pull an all nighter to fix something" distro and don't tell me that it's easy to use because I use it on the other machine.)
If I continue after the error message pops up the SUSE installer stops somewhere in the 1/4 of it being done and tells me that there is not enough space left on device and aborts.
I also tried the Guide for installing SUSE but of course it has nothing about partitioning but tells to choose the auto partitioning but that didn't work out for me either.
Plus specs of my computer are (if that gives any help but I doubt it):
Intel P4 2.8GHz
1 GB PC32000 RAM (2x 512MB Dual Channel)
nVidia GeForce 4 MX420 64 MB
80 GB Maxtor HDD
Also Slackware 10 works perfectly on that setup and installs without a hitch, so why won't SUSE work?
Anybody know how to fix this? Or if I'm doing something wrong because I have install SUSE many times and everything worked but this time. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks
