I got it working, I just had to start 3 services-- portmap, statd, and nfslock
After that I was able to mount the NFS server. Now I have 3 questions, hopefully someone can answer:
1. It seems that any user is able to mount my NFS server's exported directories. Is this correct? How do I add security to my NFS server? I would want the client to enter a username or password before being able to mount the NFS server...
2. The directory that I am exporting on the NFS server, the permission was set to 700. With those permissions, the NFS client couldn't see anything on the mounted directory. When I changed the permission of the directory that I am exporting on the NFS server to 755, then the client could see everything in the mounted directory. Is this correct? What should I set the permission to on the directory that I am exporting on my NFS server?
3. How do I export my NFS directories in rw (read-write)? Right now, they are exported in ro (read-only). Is there a conf file for the NFS server?
