subdomain on private network

hi all

not sure if this is correct or not but anyway
i have a development server which can be accessed inside the network as devserver
from outside the network it can be accessed via the network ip address

inside the network i have a subdomain set up which i can access using subdomain.devserver

is it possible to set this up so that i can access that subdomain from outside the network
i needed to change some settings in a windows hosts file to view it inside the network

Basically, you'll need to set up DNS for the subdomain. Assumming that you have DNS set up for your domain, this shouldn't be very hard to do -- just add the appropriate entry to the zone mapping file. Without some more details it's hard to be much more specific than that.

unfortunately i don't know much about networking and that kind of stuff
what kind of details would you need?
