squid memory problem

Hi

In my campus squid is catering internet services to 1200+ users. The configuration of Proxy server is P III 750 MHZ, 17GB SCSI HDD and 1 Gb RAM.

Now the problem is squid application goes on consuming RAM. Due to high traffic on proxy the RAM becomes full. So i have to restart proxy server after approximately every 12 Hours. Kindly shed some light to overcome this memory problem.

Regards
Bally
