Squid error i think?

- we have a squid in our network and most of the clients have this kind of error showing up in there browsers.

Quote:
The requested URL could not be retrieved

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.google.com.ph/firefox?

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.google.com.ph

The dnsserver returned:

Refused: The name server refuses to perform the specified operation.

This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.
- but if those clients are not using the proxy this error doesnt appear.

- can anyone give me second opinion on what might be the cause of the error i posted above.

Well, what do you get if you try to resolve the name from the
squid server itself?

Cheers,
Tink

-well i tried using nslookup and the dns was able to resolve the site but the browser of the box i am using for the squid is not using the proxy. someone from this forums told me that its not a squid issue but rather coule be our ISP but the erros only showed up on those units using the proxy.
