SLL cert in Suse

Howdy!

I have a Suse system here running SSL. A certificate has been generated using gensslcert.

When I connect to a web page the window appears asking if I want to accept the ticket. It says that it was issued by a company I have not chosen to trust. It also says that the date is valid and that the name on the cert is invalid or does not match the name pf the site.

When I click yes I am allowed into the entire site without having to accept the ticket again.

However, if I close all of my IE windows, open one up again, and try to get into the site again, I have to accept the certificate again.

Once I accept the certificate it should be accepted forever, right?

What is happening?

Thanks!

Unless your client software specifically adds the certificate into its store, it will always prompt you for this, as it does consider this a security issue.

My client software in this case is IE....

I thought that once I click OK that first time, it will not ask me again. I seem to remember doing that before on other sites.

Am I mistaken?

Thanks!

I honestly don't remember how IE behaves in such a case as I have not used IE other than Windows Update in about 3 years. (Opera and Firefox since)

I'm not thrilled with IE either but that is what everyone uses here.....

Does anyone else have any ideas?

Thanks!
