Slackware has been around for a while...

I wish I could've gotten a screen capture... but I was booting my laptop (which has Slackware 10.2) and it had to check the hard-drive for whatever reason (I think due to the fact I let the battery run down the last time I used it... maybe).

Anyway, the message was something to the effect of:
"the hard disk hasn't been checked for 49,347 days... checking hard disk..."

if you can calculate, you realize that's about 135 YEARS.
LOL

What did you do to aggrivate your computer??

Are you absolutely CERTAIN that you haven't done any time travel recently?

I have no idea how that happened. I didn't even notice the number days until a friend of mine watching the screen with me pointed that out.

I HAVE A WITNESS!!! lol

maybe my laptop has time travel capability... you know, with a flux capacitor *snickers*

My laptop is an Acer Travelmate so I could rename it "Acer Time Travelmate" lol.

Forgive the pickiness, but shouldn't that be "Slack is the oldest active Linux distro"?

What about Yggdrasil?

I see that messege almost every day. My linux pc has a screwed cmos battery, so it resets the time and gives me that error. Not uncommon

Not IMO. If you're not active, you're dead; therefore, useless.
