I just got a new mobo and was trying to install FC6 on it when I got the following error:

an error occurred - no valid devices were found on which to create new file systems. Please check your hardware for the cause of this problem.


I'm trying to install onto a SATA hd (which I've installed FC5 on before). My mobo supports raid, but I'm not using it. I've tried a few kernel parameters like nodmraid, noapic, and nolapic with no success. I'm thinking this is a chipset problem, but don't know how to proceed.

MOBO is a MSI P965Plantinum using the P965 Intel chipset.

Maybe check bios options for SATA operation, on my machine some distros won't install unless I switch from
"Raid Autodetect/AHCI" to "Raid Autodetect/ATA" (I don't run Raid) I would check drive options in your bios.
