selinux root


hi,
why after i setup in /etc/selinx/config current mode from disable to enforcing then reboot i was not able to login with root user?
what steps i must perform after change from disable to enforcing that after a reboot to login with root user?

Hi,

Those unrelated configuration.
Having SE Linux enable (permissive or enforcing) does not (at least necessarily) disable root login.
To easily disable a user login (including root) you can set his shell to /usr/sbin/nologin

What distribution of Linux are you running?
Where are you trying to login? Via ssh or at the console?

centos 7 -i try logging on the console.the goal is to login with root in enforcing case.

I have CentOS7.6 with SELinux enforcing, and can login as root from console. You have something else on your system that is preventing you to login as root.
Can you login as a non-root user then do sudo? If yes, then tail the messages file and from another tty, login as root. It may give you some hints on what's wrong?
