I was going back and forth between trying to paste it and type it out manually.
Turns out that whole prepa issue was actually from trying to paste it into vi without being in insert mode. I can paste fine now. I needed to hit i for insert mode before pasting.
Or use nano...think Wordstar

Yep, it was probably beaping for the p r e p
when coming to the a it entered insert mode (a = append = jump right and insert)
