Unhappy screen to video

I do TV weather for a living and we have four 02 boxes. I am trying to learn but it seems a bit overwhelming. Anyway...on one of the boxes we have doppler radar software. We show the radar on the air by using the videoout command. This gives you an option of either full screen OR a preset window that shows a portion of the screen. If I show the full screen I show the radar controls, which I don't want. If I choose the window I get about a forth of the screen. is there any way to rezise this window? I've looked through the man pages for this and others like vlcmd and such, but don't see anything. Is there another video library that would allow me to do this?
