I have a PABX system that when a certain command is executed it dumps a whole lot of data on the screen.
Is there a way to get a perl script to execute the command, but more importantly is there a way to get the data from the screen and dump it in a text file?
I would suggest running it from "screen". Starting screen with flag "-L", setting logging in your screenrc or default keycombo CTRL-A SHIFT-H will enable logging to file. Other pro's of screen are it keeps your console uncluttered (just open another "window" to work in) and it's sessions are detachable and resumable.
