samba


I have windows XP SP2/SP1 client Pcs and a linux server (fedora-4). Looking for samba client software that will be installed in client Pcs to access linux server.

If anyone knows about the site pls let me know.

you dont need a client to be installed to access your samba share. you can just do it the same way you do it with a win server.

w3bd3vil....wouldn't it be just like joining a windows domain or workgroup?

You dont need any samba client software if you reside within the LAN or the same workgroup your samba server is being hosted.

Yes, if you are running it in that mode. Otherwise a simple browse or mapping will do.

It seems an altogether different query. Or do you mean that you want to access your samba from an internet client ?
