Question: I had to make a few changes in the php.ini file (in /etc). What do I have to do, to make these changes take place? In other words, do I have to restart something, or compile something?
I tried to turn 'On' register_globals variable in the php.ini file, but when I do a phpinfo() I don't see the changes for either the Local value or the Master value. Is there anything I have to do, like compile a file or something to get it to 'On'.
I am really new to php, so trying to figure out some stuff.
if you re using ZEND then u will have to make changes into php.ini of that as well.. i don't know , it is king of wierd but i had similar problem way back and this is how i had solved it.

Sorry,
I forgot to mention that I restarted Apache (httpd). Still it shows in the phpinfo() that the variable is set to Off.
