X is network transparent , so the following post applies when any client can reach your X server over TCP/IP

So you're trying to display/control the X application on your Windows machine? Do have have an X Server running on your Windows machine (such as Exceed or Reflections X)?

The error you're getting indicated it's trying to direct the X application to the Console of the Sun machine.

If you do have an X server running on the Windows box, then set the DISPLAY variable on the Sun box before running dbassist:

$ DISPLAY=1.2.3.4:0; export DISPLAY

where 1.2.3.4 is the IP address of the windows machine. This also assumes that the X Server is set "wide open" on the windows machine (which most Window's X servers are by default).

Hope this helps,

Matt

For me, I am using rdesktop, it's easy to use and easily be installed. It's equivalent to the Windoze's Terminal Service.
