Hi Everyone. Wonder if someone can help me. I'm trying to get both Redhat 7.2 and Windoze 98 to co-exist on the same machine. I have installed Windoze 98 on my master hard drive and have installed Redhat 7.2 on the slave. To allow for the option of different operating systems at bootup I have installed BootMagic on the Windoze disk. BootMagics can see the slave disk and the linux and SWAP Partitions. Only problem is, when I select Redhat Linux in BootMagic nothing happens at all, whereas if I set the Redhat disk as the master I can get in no problem. What am I doing wrong? when I installed Redhat I didn't install the LILO. Should I have done? Should I use BootMagic or should I use something that'll work more consistenly with the Linux platform? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you for reading.,
put the redhat cd1 disk in let it boot up, follow the instructions to UPGRADE. When it gets to the boot loader window select install LILO (i am saying use this instead of GRUB because most people use LILO so you will have more luck with getting help) and leave everything else as defaults. then just go on with completing the upgrade, exept dont install anything else.
I think you will find that it will now boot with the lilo boot loader (large splash screen and use the upand down arrow keys to change between linux and windows).
