Quick quide to host.allow / deny?

Hi there forum!

I think I need to change my host.allow file. Here is why. I am trying to access my network from vpn. When I connect, I ping to my samba server and I get a response. But when I am trying to access my smb shares, it is not possible. I think that I have to change my host.allow file.

After I connect to the internet so I can access from VPN my ipconfig shows that:
Code:
PPP adapter VMC.Internet

      Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
      IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 10.2.11.221
      Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.255
      Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.2.11.221
but my ISP tell me that the connection is going through NAT or something and my IP number is in range of 212.92.64.0/25. So what host should I allow?

Thanks for your time!

I'm a little confused about how your network is set up. Are you trying to do something like this:
Code:
        \ ---------- --------------- /
You <--- |===| Your ISP |=== Internet ===| Some computer |===| ---> Samba Server
        / ---------- ^ --------------- \
                          |
                    VPN tunnel

Thanks for the reply, the "some computer" is an IPCop box. Anyway, I got it right. There is no need to change the host.allow file, only change the hosts file on my XP box.

Thanks again!
