please use a better title than "questions"... kinda defeats the purpose of a title if it means nothing.

1) none. use a router instead if you can, e.g and ADSL ethernet router.

2) "run" a blog??? if you mean a web server holding a diary, then if no one ever reads it (like 99% of blogs) then yeah sure. if you expect 1,000,000 hits a day, no.

3) Gimp and gnome are utterly different things... do some research: http://gnome.org http://gimp.org

4) i like Anjuta.
