question on mount/umount situation

first my fstab entries
Code:
//frumpy/FRUMPIES-SHARE /xp     smbfs   user,noauto,uid=joe,gid=joe,username=*********,password=*********,rw      0       0
/dev/sda1       /xtrnl          vfat    user,noauto,uid=joe,gid=joe,rw
for some reason i can mount /xp as user but when i umount i am told
Code:
umount: only root can unmount //frumpy/FRUMPIES-SHARE from /xp
i don't have this prob when i hook up my pen drive. if anyone understands this can you explain it? did i miss something in the fstab?

**********
update
**********
i found that i have the same problem with the connection to another computer on my network.
Code:
//geekazoid/movies /home/joe/connect smbfs user,noauto,uid=joe,gid=joe,rw       0       0
that is the fstab entry
now Geekazoid is my linux server and the reason i don't have a nfs to it is cause i don't know anything about nfs but i do have the file being shared thru samba so i just connect using that.
