question on .bin files

I've downloaded a program, Limewire to be specific, and it downloaded as a .bin file, I'm not exactly sure what to do with it, so could someone shed some light for me?
Thanks, rufius

Typically .bin files are shells scripts with encoded data in them. Try making it executable and running it.

Limewire is cool, has a nice friendly face on it too It's Java that gives everyone the headache from this install, not LimeWire itself And supposedly the latest version supports "swarming" which apparently means that you can download from multiple people to speed up your download. I wasn't aware you couldn't do this before. Is something like this available in gtk-gnutella or qtella?

Cool
