psyBNC from inetd wont find psybnc.conf

its like this for me , i want psyBNC to be started in inetd
so i added to /etc/services a new entry for it , and in inetd.conf i put this
psybnc stream tcp nowait username /path/psybnc/psybnc

i get this error when connecting
Configuration File (null) not found, aborting
-
192.168.0.6 Run 'make menuconfig' for creating a configuration or create the file manually.
-
[16:09] * [10054] Connection reset by peer

though i have a config file in the dir it starts and i have rerun this make menuconfig ,and not by inetd i can start it but it works properly from the user by ./psybnc , in the dir. i cant find any site that covers this , anyone have an idea ? i dont want it to be run as root.
